UPDATE: Mckesson has release updated dll files to correct this issue. Download: PH-Update.zip Extract into the Medisoft Bin folder (normally c:\medisoft\bin\ or c:\program files\medisoft\bin\ or c:\program files (x86)\medisoft\bin\) You may still receive the authentication message, but it should be much less frequent than prior to updating the dll files. In an effort to combat software piracy, McKesson has implemented a phone home system. Whenever you open a practice Medisoft checks online and contacts McKesson's Authorization Server. If for any reason the Auth Server can not be contacted you may receive one of the following prompts. Note this is on a per practice basis and not just opening Medisoft.
1. For versions 17sp2.1 and lower: With this warning message you will still be able to access your practice, however if the Auth Server can not be contacted by the 6th day Medisoft will be disabled. To clear this error message or re-enable the software, you will need to contact your Medisoft VAR (best option) or McKesson Support directly to resolve the issue.
2. For versions v17sp3.3 and up: a. With this message prompt you will have the option to contact the Auth Server for the Medisoft product via a web browser. Copy the yellow box text and then click the web link for http://medisoft.com/productauthentication/
b. On this page you will paste the code into the box provided and then click the 'Retrieve Pin' button.
c. Copy the numbers below 'Your 5-digit Pin:' and paste them in the prompt back in Medisoft. d. WHEN YOU PASTE OR ENTER THE PIN IN THE BOX IN THE MEDISOFT PROMPT, THE PROMPT AUTO CLOSES. e. Then Medisoft will open the practice as normal. |
